The House’s highest honor, The Joanne T Lucid Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Gregory College House Community was established by Professor Robert Lucid in honor of his wife Joanne, a committed educator and the first Associate Faculty Director of Gregory. First bestowed at the close of the 2003-2004 academic year, the award honors a graduating senior, usually a four-year resident, who has made an indelible contribution to the House during their time at Gregory. Recipients receive a trophy and cash prize, and their names are added to the plaque in the lobby of Van Pelt Manor. During the award presentation ceremony, which usually takes place in late April or May, we also issue awards to freshmen, sophomores, or juniors who made their mark over the course of the concluding year.
