Deutsches Haus - Movie Night

What:

German House is a series of regularly scheduled, German-language-only events for students interested in developing and maintaining their German language skills through conversation and cultural activities. The focus is on improving your language skills, so this program welcomes both advanced speakers and those just learning German. The Deutsches Haus is not only open to students of Gregory College House, but to all University of Pennsylvania students.

Core events consist of various activities (Kaffeestunde) and movie nights (Filmabend) on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 18:50 and of discussion tables (Stammtisch) on Thursdays from 18:00 to 18:50.

The movie selection for this semester is the following: Aus dem Nichts (Drama, 2017, 106 minutes), Toni Erdmann (Comedy, 2016, 162 minutes), Zwei Leben (Drama, 2012, 97 minutes), Nirgendwo in Afrika (Drama, 2001, 141 minutes). Each of these movies was submitted for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film to represent Germany.
