Meg Gladieux

Graduate Resident Advisor
Class of 1925, 2nd Floor

Hi everyone!

My name is Meg, I'm a Master's student in Penn's Graduate School of Education studying Education Policy. I just graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences at Penn in May 2023 (I've been at Penn since Fall 2019, which is hard to believe sometimes), and this will be my third year as an RA in Gregory. This is one of my favorite places in the world—I have found myself at Gregory, and I'm so excited to welcome people into our community this year. I'm excited to see lots of new and returning faces to our Gregory community this year!

As an undergraduate, I was a double major in Cognitive Science (with a concentration in cognitive neuroscience) and French and Francophone Studies. I'm now studying education policy—I'm most interested in advocating for policies in schools that cater to children that have experienced trauma and advocating for youth grief programs in schools. I'm also interested in education journalism and better communication within and about American education.

I was involved in everything from student government to creative writing programs to community engagement at the Netter Center in my time as an undergraduate and I'm still involved in a lot of this even as a graduate student! If you ever have questions about getting involved in student groups, I'd be happy to chat with you about it—I know it can be overwhelming to naviagate all the extracurricular opportunities on campus. You'll often find me at the Kelly Writers House if I'm not in class or at Gregory. Writing and journalism are also major loves of mine and I try to write as much as I can in my free time. I'm also involved with the Netter Center and a handful of other organizations on campus—I hope to help you all find groups, places, and people on campus that speak to you. I've got a lot of connections around campus, so even if you aren't interested in something that I'm specifically involved with, if you want someone to talk to about extracurriculars, I'd love to help you!

But despite all I'm involved with on campus, Gregory is one of my favorite places on campus, my home, where I love to hang out and take a break from the sometimes (read: often) stressful environment of Penn. I like to joke that Gregory is my living room, and I hope that you feel the same way, that our house is a place you feel comfortable to be yourself and find reprieve from the busy life of a Penn student. Around Gregory, you'll probably find me baking in the communal kitchens, having picnics on the beach (what we call the grassy area between the two buildings), chatting with the managers in The Darkroom Cafe, showing up to film screenings in my pajamas, studying in the greenhouse, or in my room playing guitar or listening to music. I love hosting art-focused events (calligraphy, watercolors, poetry writing) at Gregory, as well as events that get us out of Gregory and into the community. I'm looking forward to lots of Gregory trips that venture into West Philly and all of Philadelphia's many other spectacular neighborhoods and take advantage of all of the other amazing stuff happening on and off campus.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone—feel free to reach out to me to say hi!
