Dario Goldgel Carballo

Graduate Associate
4th Floor C'25, Spanish House Program Director

¡Hola! My name is Darío (oddly easy to mispronounce, actually) and I'm a 4th year Ph.D. candidate in the Hispanic Studies Program, where I've also been teaching Spanish the last couple of years. Prior to that, I studied film-making in my home country, and later worked in few movies (most of them independent, low-budget and with generous amounts of fake blood).

I'm from Buenos Aires, Argentina, which makes me a porteño, characters widely known through Latin America for being cocky and know-it-alls (and despite I'm still trying to work on my modesty, I must confess I do know a lot about the most useless subjects, and I'm always eager to learn more, so please share). I've also spent a fair amount of time in Mexico and Sweden, mostly shooting films, and learning the language in the latter. This is my first year at Gregory, but my grandpa was called Gregorio, so I feel I was already 1/4 Gregorian myself.

In my spare time I enjoy zombies, sci-fi, creative writing, physics without the math, programming, not-so-great guitar playing, learning languages and a little baking. I enjoy listening to people, so I'm looking forward to learn more about my fellow Gregorians!
