Maggie is starting her second year at Penn, working towards a degree in Social Work and Social Policy. She is originally from the suburbs of Philly (south Jersey), but has been living away from the area since going off to college. Maggie enjoys travel, music, art, movies, meeting new people, books, food (especially cookies) and conversation. While an undergrad at Williams College, Maggie studied abroad in Mexico, Nicaragua, South Africa, India and Brazil. Since then she has also visited Ireland, Canada, the Bahamas and Thailand and returned to India and Mexico. For the year following undergrad she worked at an orphanage in Nepal, during the Nepali civil war. Maggie's main area of professional interest is in adoption and foster care. She has a variety of experience in the social services having worked at a homeless shelter, a legal service agency, a mental health agency and in the school system. She spent a year as an Americorps VISTA doing community outreach in the Boston area and has been there since, and now she is excited about returning to Philly. She is looking forward to joining Gregory House and working on her Spanish!
