The Russian House is located in Gregory
College House at 3941 Irving Street, across from
Saint Mary's Church. We are a little cozy
community of enthusiasts who are interested in
Russian language and culture. We have our little
rituals that help us improve our Russian skills:
we meet every Monday to talk in Russian on a
variety of topics over tea or coffee with tasty
treats that we get from the Russian quarters of
Philadelphia. Together with the Slavic
Department we host various activities: movies,
teas, lectures, excursions, and parties. If you
want, you can also get one course unit of credit
(Russian 399) for living in the House. In order
to do so, you simply reside in the house for an
entire academic year and register in one of the
following sequences: Russian 001-002, 003-004,
311-312, or 411-413. You are supposed to
participate in Russian House activities
throughout the year showing up for three
activities a week. Note that only one course
unit of credit may be earned in this manner.
Everyone who already speaks or wants to speak or
to listen to Russian is welcome to all of our
activities. Feel free to bring your friends. |
