Over the years, Shane has teamed up with his friend Ben Cohen, founder of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream, to look at both the economics and the ethics of military spending and the war economy, Shane will share stories of his peacemaking work in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as right here in Philadelphia where he has been building community and doing violence interruption for over 20 years. Ben will share about the devastating amount of resources spent on the military and how that impacts other public services like healthcare and education. Ben will pass out free ice cream.b
